Jesse Dean Cook. Discovering West Vancouver's Most Glamorous Properties.

The Annual TD Vancouver International Jazz Festival has kicked off and with over 300 live performances (150 of them free) there are sure to be many wonderful artists for you to go see live!

This is one of the most critically acclaimed jazz festivals in the world, and draws close to half a million patrons during the 11 day event.

I highly recommend a free concert tomorrow evening (Thursday June 27th) from 8pm-11pm at The Fairmont Pacific Rim in Downtown Vancouver featuring the amazing duo of Amanda Wood and Malcolm Aiken. Both artists have been touring Internationally and bring an amazing combination of adult contemporary pop with a Cuban flare that will have you grooving all night long!

For more information please check out the artist's websites below, as well as the Jazz Festivals home site for information on tickets and other artists.

If you (or your husband or boyfriend) are in need of a style update, then Baracos + Brand in Ambleside (1411 Bellevue Ave) is the modern men's store for you! So many men want to know how to dress but are overwhelmed by the process. Perhaps it is going into a large store with so many choices and no one to help piece an outfit together. This results in an off-the-rack suit that does not fit correctly and in turn does not look good.

Owner Christine Baracos and Men's Style Coach Specialist Bobbie Long are here to help. They offer a wide range of suits, casual wear and accessories (great pocket squares, bow-ties and bright socks!) in a boutique environment that allows you to relax, enjoy the experience and learn from the process. Nothing quite feels as good as a perfectly tailored suit, and most men have not experienced feeling like a million bucks in a suit that fits like a glove. Bobbie will make sure your suit is tailored specifically to your body type so that no matter if you are wearing your suit to work, a wedding or a special event you know you are looking your best!

With upcoming events such as The Deighton Cup and le Diner en Blanc, Baracos + Brand will make sure you (or your man) is dressed in style...dressed like a Gentleman.

For more information as well as how to book a personal consultation with the one and only Bobbie Long, please go to their website provided below.

Naavy Jack Thomas is believed to be the very first European resident to call West Vancouver home. Things have changed substantially since 1872, about the time when Naavy Jack purchased approximately 80 acres of prime wooded water frontage stretching from what is now 21st Street to about 16th. I would sure like to be the Real Estate Agent who sells 80 Acres of prime West Vancouver waterfront today....wow!

Born in Wales in the 1830's, Jack made his way to BC by way of the Royal Navy in 1860 and settled in Northern BC. Eventually he made it down to the North Shore where he became very well known for the quality of his river-washed gravel used as a major component for concrete. This fine gravel still uses his name today in the Vancouver building trade! Naavy Jack's success led to the purchase of the gorgeous waterfront property where he built a home in 1873 that still stands today at 1768 Argyle. Though this home has been modified many times, the original home design was well before its time.

Thanks to pioneers like Naavy Jack Thomas we now live in a community rich with history and unparalled beauty. For more information please click on the link below, and the next time you are on the Seawall make sure to stop for a few minutes to take a closer look at his home...as well as just how much land was originally his!

When you enter the Bellevue Natural Health Clinic in Ambleside you immediately feel a sense of calm as you have stepped into an ecofriendly, tranquil environment. Dr. Sara Kinnon and her fabuous team make you feel at ease as they listen intently on what it is that is holding you back, and come up with a specifically tailored game plan for each patient.

Most people aren't quite sure what treaments take place in a health clinic. Lindsey Jesswein, ND explained that there are a wide variety of treatments that clients come in for including the most popular which are: hormone balancing, IV therapy as well as treating various allergies (outdoors, food etc). All IV's are prepared in-house and only supplements of the highest quality and known supply chains are carried at the clinic. While Women's Health and Mental Health make up a large share of the clients, Athletes of all kinds are taking advantage of improvements in natural health methods which improves performance and recovery.

Many people do not realize that most extended health plans cover these treatments, so why not book an initial consultation where you can sit down with an expert who will listen to you and advise on what can be done. The people at Bellevue Natural Health Clinic are so warm and inviting you will feel so welcome. From the first time you enter and are greeted by Office Manager, Stewart J. For those of you who attended West Vancouver Community Day last weekend, you were most likely stationed somewhere between 13th St and 19th St along Marine Drive or Bellevue. Most of you would have noticed all of the unique shops that are in this area but have not had the chance to check them out...now you can!

The 2nd Annual West Vancouver Chamber of Commerce Taste of Ambleside will take place this Thursday June 6th from 5:00pm-8:30pm. The weather forecast looks great and with tickets only $20 ($5 for under 12 years of age) this is amazing value.

There are 65 businesses that are involved and you can bring your ticket/passport to 20 of them who will offer you either appetizers, drinks, giveaways, coupons or special discounts. Once you have 20 stamps your ticket will be entered into a draw for a gift basket.
